# How referrals work

> Learn how TrueCurrent referrals work, how to unlock a referral code, and how referral bonus points are calculated.

Invite traders to TrueCurrent and earn bonus Points when they trade through your referral link. Referral rewards are additional to the referee's own points; they do not reduce what the referred trader earns.

Referral program terms may change by campaign season.

## How to Unlock Your Referral Code

To create a referral code, you need to reach \$10,000 in cumulative notional volume on TrueCurrent. Once you hit this threshold, the referral feature unlocks automatically – no application or approval required.

## How to Create Your Referral Code

Go to [`tc.xyz`](http://tc.xyz) and start trading.

Once your cumulative notional volume reaches \$10,000, navigate to the Referral page.

1. Click "Create Code"
2. Enter your personal code (e.g. your handle or community name)
3. Your referral code is now live and ready to share.

## How to Share and Track Your Referrals

Share your unique referral link with friends, trading groups, or your community. Anyone who signs up and trades through your link is permanently attributed to you on-chain.

Track your invitees' status, trading activity, and your earned bonus points directly on the Referral page.

## What Referrers Earn

20% bonus on all of your referees' Points. Permanent – no expiration, no volume cap. No limit on the number of traders you can refer.

## What Referees Get

Full Points on every trade – the referrer's 20% bonus is additional and does not reduce your allocation.
Full Airdrop Points on every trade - the referrer's 20% bonus is additional and does not reduce yours.

Once you reach \$10,000 in notional volume, you can create your own referral code and start earning referral rewards yourself.
