# Security & settings

> Keep your TrueCurrent mobile account secure with biometric lock and safe sign-in practices.

TrueCurrent secures a **self-custodial** wallet for you automatically. You never have to manage a private key. Your account is protected by the email, phone, or social login you signed up with, plus the security features on your device.

## Biometric lock

Enable Face ID or Touch ID to lock the app. Go to **Profile** → **Security** and toggle **Biometric Lock** on. This prevents unauthorized access if someone picks up your unlocked phone.

## Account security

* **Protect the login you signed up with**: Keep your email, phone, Apple ID, or Google account secure, since it's the key to your TrueCurrent account
* **Enable two-factor authentication** on your email and social accounts for an extra layer of protection
* **Enable biometric lock** in the app for quick, secure access
* **Keep the app updated** for the latest security patches

  TrueCurrent will **never** ask for your email password, SMS codes, or recovery details. Assume that anyone who does is **not** from TrueCurrent, and is a false representation.

## App settings

Open the **Profile** tab to reach **Profile and Settings**.

Then select **Security** to access sign-in and biometric lock related settings.

## Signing out

Your session persists between app launches. To sign out, open the **Profile** tab and tap **Logout** at the bottom. This doesn't affect your positions or balances. Sign back in with the **same method** anytime and everything is exactly as you left it.

## Deleting your account

**Delete account** is also available at the bottom of the **Profile** screen. Withdraw any funds first. Deleting your account does **not** move funds for you.
