# Make a Prediction

> Place your first prediction on a real-world event using TrueCurrent's Predictions market.

Once your Predictions account is funded, you can start placing bets on real-world events.

## Before you start

Make sure you have:

* Enabled Predictions ([guide](/predictions/enable-predictions))
* Funded your Predictions account ([guide](/predictions/fund-account))

## Step 1: Browse markets

From the Predictions tab, browse available markets and select the event you want to bet on.

## Step 2: Pick an outcome

Select the outcome you want to bet on.

## Step 3: Enter your amount

Enter the amount of USDC you want to stake.

The price shown next to each outcome (e.g. 86¢) represents the market's implied probability of that outcome occurring. If you're correct and the market resolves in your favor, each share pays out \$1.00.

## Step 4: Buy

Click **Buy** to place your prediction.

## Step 5: Approve the transaction

Approve the transaction in your wallet pop-up.

## Step 6: Check your positions

You can view your active predictions under the **Positions** tab on the Predictions page. You can sell your position at any time before the event resolves to lock in gains or cut losses.
